How to connect your Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway to the telephone network for voice calls
This guide gives you information about the different possibilities to connect Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway to the telephone network to be able to make voice calls. From this overview, you can get to know how the message sending works using the different options. These are the following:
1. Using an Internet VoIP service provider
You can connect directly to the service provider to make voice calls. If you choose
this option, you need to make a contract with your service provider and get a VoIP
account, namely a username, a password, a port number and an IP address. Ozeki NG
- SMS Gateway sends your message to the service provider using your
VoIP account and the service provider forwards the message to the recipient (Figure 1).
2. Using a telephone line adapter
You can connect Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway to the
telephone network if you are using a telephone line adapter in three different
ways:
2/a GSM Networks: VoIP to GSM gateways
If you are using a GSM gateway, the message sending procedure will work as follows:
Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway is connected to the service provider through a GSM Gateway. The
software sends your voice message to the GSM Gateway, which forwards it to the GSM service
provider. The service provider will transmit your voice message to the recipient's mobile phone (Figure 2).
2/b Analog phone lines: VoIP to analog telephone adapter
You can use an ATA, an Analog Telephone Adapter to connect to the service provider.
You need the IP address and port number of the ATA to be able to connect it to Ozeki NG -
SMS Gateway. The software forwards your message to the service provider through the ATA.
Then, the service provider sends out the voice message to the recipients (Figure 3).
2/c ISDN phone lines: VoIP to ISDN telephone adapter
An ISDN Ata is used to connect VoIP and ISDN networks. If you use an ISDN ATA to
connect to the telephone network, Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway will forward your voice
message to the service provider through the ISDN ATA. Then your message is sent
to the recipient by the service provider (Figure 4).
3. Using the corporate PBX
You can use your corporate PBX to connect Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway to the telephone
network. This way, you can send voice messages to the different phones attached to the
PBX within the office, or you can use the PBX to send messages to a phone outside
your private system, using the service provider. If you would like to send voice
messages within your private system, you need to add the prefixes of the phones
attached to the PBX and the software will send out your messages to the recipients
through the PBX.
If you would like to send voice message outside your office network, you need to add the prefix of outgoing calls and the phone number of the recipient. This way, the PBX will forward your message to the service provider and the service provider will send it to the recipient (Figure 5).
